Centrul Municipal de Colectare Iasi

Starting February 17th, students in Iasi will be introduced to the Municipal Collection Center of Iasi

Between February 17th – March 14th 2016, ECOTIC, with the support of Iasi City Hall and Salubris, will unfold an extensive communication campaign in the schools of the city, for students in 5th to 8th grades, to inform children and teachers on the opening of Romania’s first municipal collection center.

On March 10th 2016, the Municipal Collection Center of Iasi (CMCI) will be officially open. It is the first municipal waste collection center in Romania that respects European standards and it was co-funded through Norway Grants.

The Center is located in an easily accessible area, on 26th Gradinari St. At this moment, Romania completely lacks this type of centers, where people can easily go – whether by foot or by car – and hand over all types of waste that can be produced in a normal household. Plastic, cardboard, paper, glass, textiles, construction waste, WEEE, all of these can be brought into the Center.

“My Clean Iasi” is an interesting and interactive campaign that delivers information about the opening of the Center, about where, how and what students can bring to CMCI. They will be encouraged to share the information they receive with their family and friends and will also get concrete data on the situation of waste collection in Romania, why it affects us all and how we can contribute to cleaning our own home – be it our house or our city.
